I'm sure everyone has heard about bed bugs, but you might not know what they look like, how they can infect your residence or company, and how to get rid of them!
Well let's start with what they are and how to identify them. The technical name for these annoying bugs is 'Cimex lectularius'. These blood thirsty bugs are considered a public health pest by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). These pesky critters are a public health pest, they are not known to spread disease yet some individuals have had an allergic reaction.
This does not suggest that you should necessarily disregard bed bugs or otherwise take the problem seriously. They can cause other public health problems, so avoiding and taking care of these bugs is of critical importance.
In the last few years, there has been a larger problem with bed bugs in the USA. Experts attribute increased traveling, lack of public education, bed bugs being resistant to pesticides and inadequate control methods to the increased problem.
