I'm sure everyone has heard about bed bugs however you may not know what they look like, just how your house or company can be infected and more importantly, just how to get rid of them!
Well let's begin with what they are and how to identify them. The technical name for these annoying bugs is 'Cimex lectularius'. These blood thirsty pests are considered a public health pest by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and US Department of Agriculture (USDA). These pesky creatures are a public health bug, they are not known to spread disease but some individuals have had an allergic reaction.
This does not suggest you can simply disregard bed bugs or otherwise take the problem seriously. They can create other public health issues so it is critically important to prevent and control these pests.
In the last few years, there has been a bigger problem with bed bugs in the United States. Experts attribute increased traveling, lack of public education, bed bugs being resistant to chemicals and poor control methods to the increased problem.
